Ich weigere mich, die kapitalistische Logik von Ausbeutung, Wachstum und Profitmaximierung als das einzige funktionierende System anzuerkennen. Ich weigere mich, daran teilzunehmen und will ein System der anerkennenden Zusammenarbeit etablieren.

Ich weigere mich, die Augen zu schließen vor den Konsequenzen, die die Modeindustrie gegenüber Mensch und Welt zu verantworten hat, im Gegenteil exponiere ich sie und fordere, dass sich ihr System fundamental ändern, wenn nicht sogar auflösen muss!

Ich weigere mich, das Visuelle als Ausgangspunkt und Inhalt vorauszusetzen. Das Visuelle ist für mich Mittel zum Zweck und der Zweck ist, die Botschaft zu überbringen oder Gefühle oder Funktionen im Zusammenspiel zwischen Körper, Kleidung und Umwelt zu ermöglichen. Schönheit ist auch ein Zweck, aber das Visuelle allein reicht nicht.

Ich weigere mich, cool und trendy zu sein und stelle stattdessen Authentizität an oberste Stelle.

Ich weigere mich, Mode als festes Konzept aus ökonomischen Strukturen und begehrenswerten Produkten zu sehen. Ich weigere mich, eine Grenze zwischen Mode, Kunst und Aktivismus zu ziehen.

Ich weigere mich, Models als austauschbare Objekte zu betrachten und arbeite daher nur mit Freund*innen und inhaltlich Beteiligten zusammen.

Ich weigere mich, die Konfektionsgröße 38 als Maßstab zu setzen. Die Realität vielfältiger Körper muss repräsentiert werden.

Ich weigere mich, Kleidung in Genderkategorien zu entwerfen. Ich will mitarbeiten an einer Zukunft, in der Genderzuschreibungen überflüssig werden.

Ich weigere mich, finanziellen Erfolg als größten Erfolgsmaßstab zu sehen. Konsequenz ist wichtiger als Rentabilität. Finanzielles Scheitern bedeutet nicht unbedingt inhaltliches Scheitern.

Ich weigere mich, mich zu beugen vor vermeintlich unverbesserlichen, alternativlosen Praxen, wenn jene Praxen destruktiv sind. Das gilt für Herstellungsmethoden, Systeme und Philosophien.

Ich bin mir bewusst darüber, dass ich meine eigenen Ansprüche nicht alle auf einmal einlösen kann, denn die Transformation der Modeindustrie ist ein Prozess, der nur gemeinsam mit vielen Verbündeten gelingen kann. I refuse to accept the capitalist logic of exploitation, growth and profit maximisation as the only possible system. I refuse to be part of it and want to establish a system of respectful cooperation.

I refuse to ignore the consequences for which the fashion industry is responsible towards people and the world; on the contrary, I am exposing them and demanding that the system has to change fundamentally, if not be dissolved.

I refuse to treat the visual as the starting point or the content. For me, the visual is a means to a purpose, and that purpose is to convey a message or to facilitate emotions or functions through the interplay between the body, clothing and the environment. Beauty is also a purpose in itself, but the visual alone is not enough.

I refuse to be cool and trendy; instead, I prioritise authenticity.

I refuse to view fashion as a fixed concept composed of economic structures and desirable products. I refuse to draw a line between fashion, art and activism.

I refuse to view models as interchangeable objects and therefore only work with friends and those who are involved in the project’s content.

I refuse to set size 38 as the standard. The reality of diverse bodies must be represented.

I refuse to design clothes in gender categories. I want to help creating a future in which gender labels become redundant.

I refuse to regard financial success as the ultimate measure of success. Consistency is more important than profitability. Financial failure does not necessarily mean failure of content.

I refuse to bow to practices that are supposedly beyond reform and for which there is no alternative, if those practices are destructive. This applies to manufacturing methods, systems and philosophies.

I am aware that I cannot meet all of my own aspirations at once, as the transformation of the fashion industry is a process that can only succeed if we work together with many allies.
